Jewelry Design Competition:

JewelryInTheNet is calling on all jewelry professionals, amateur jewelry designers
and students of the jewelry trade to participate in an open jewelry design competition.
The Free competition is designed to recognize, highlight and reward talented jewelry
designers. A large amount of prizes will be awarded to the winning designers. The
competition will be highly publicized to over 1000's of jewelry professionals and
the general public. It is a great way to showcase your work
and bring exposure to you or your business. Last day to enter is November 29th, 2008. Viewing &
Voting is from November 30th - December 31st, 2008, and is open to the public.
Win and Sell:
In addition to the great awards and high exposure, the top 10 finalists will also have the
option to auction off their winning pieces.

Who Can Enter:
The competition is open to anyone and will be divided into 2 categories for the
participants, Amateur and Professional. If you make jewelry as a hobby or have been
in the design field for less than 2 years, you are eligible to compete in the Amateur
category. Designers who sell their work professionally and have 2 or more years
of experience in jewelry design, qualify to enter the Professional category.
Your Entry:
You are allowed to enter up to 5 different designs and each entry can include up
to 3 images. The piece must be fully assembled and finished. All stones set, if
applicable, and ready to wear. Entries can be: belt buckles, body jewelry, brooches,
bracelets, chains, earrings, hair ornaments, necklaces, pins, rings or any other
type of jewelry that can be worn. Any type of materials and metals may be
used for the construction of the entry and encourage participants
to enter their highest quality work. Only photos of entries are required, not the actual pieces.
Renderings and CAD images are not permitted.
Entry Fees:
There are no entry fees for this competition. It is entirely free to join JewelryInTheNet.com
and no purchase required to participate in the competition.
How To Enter:

- Navigate to the submit entry page http://www.jewelryinthenet.com/design/DesignEntry.aspx
or click on the “Submit an Entry” at the top of this page
- Select the competition level
- Select the category for your design
- Include a title and description of your entry
- Upload at least one photograph of your design (you may upload up to 3 photos)
- Include a business or designer profile. (Optional)
- Include your website address. (Optional)
- Select the auction option and minimum selling price (Both Optional)
- Agree to competition rules and submit your design.
Who Can Vote:
Anyone with a valid email address can vote. Users are allowed to vote a maximum
of 10 times and no
more than 3 times for the same entry. You are not required to be a jewelry designer or professional jeweler to vote and the public is encouraged to participate in the voting process.
After your vote is submitted you will receive an email to validate your vote. You must respond to the validation for
your vote to be cast for the entry. Once a vote has been submitted it cannot be changed or retracted. The identity of the voter is strictly confidential.

1st Place
- (1) $3,500.00 Scholarship to American School of Jewelry for any Program of your
choice. OR
- (1) Premium JewelryInTheNet Online Store for one year that includes enough credits for
60 monthly free basic product ads, plus a JewelryInTheNet Banner advertising
campaign.
2nd Place
- (1) $1,400.00 Scholarship to American School of Jewelry for any Program of your choice.
OR
- (1) Enhanced JewelryInTheNet Online Store for one year that includes enough credits for
35 monthly free basic product ads, plus a JewelryInTheNet Banner advertising
campaign.
3rd, 4th and 5th Place
- (1) $500.00 Scholarship to American School of Jewelry for any Program of your choice.
OR
- (1) Basic JewelryInTheNet Online Store for one year that includes enough credits for
20 monthly free basic product ads, plus a JewelryInTheNet Banner advertising
campaign.
Awards for the Professional:
1st Place
- (1) $3,500.00 Scholarship to American School of Jewelry for any Program of your
choice. OR

Additional awards and prizes will be based on sponsorship participation. JewelryInTheNet
will post any changes/additions to the sponsor awards and prizes.

Competition Dates:
The competition begins on October 15th 2008. All entries must be submitted by November 29th, 2008. Voting will begin on November
30th, 2008. The last day to vote is on December 31st, 2008. Entries will be made visible to the public on November 30th.
Entry Rules:
In order to qualify
to enter the competition, you must be 18 years of age or older, or obtain written
authorization from your parent or guardian.. Your entry must be a piece that you
have designed on your own and not copied from another party. You may enter a piece
that has been submitted to other competition/s providing that your piece/s were
not selected as the wining piece/s. By entering into the competition you agree that
your designs are not in violation or infringement of copyright, trademark, trade
secret, intellectual property or patent laws. You may enter more than one of your
creations in the competition. JewelryInTheNet will pre-screen the designs and has
the right to dismiss those patterns that are considered not to be feasible to be
displayed or that do not meet the criteria of the organizers of the contest. All
jewelry must be completely finished. No unfinished jewelry will be allowed into
the competition. If the piece requires stones, all stones must be set. No digital
or cad cam designs are allowed unless the piece has been fully completed and is
ready to wear. JewelryInTheNet may ask for proof or physical evidence of the existence
of the piece. The item can only be entered one time in the competition. If an item
is entered in the competition more than once, all entries will be void and the competitor
will not be allowed to enter in the competition. In order for the competition to
take place, there must be a minimum of 10 entries per category. Photographs must
showcase the piece of jewelry only, not being worn, just displayed on the background
of your choice.
Winning Entries
Competition winners will be notified by email and all winning entries will be posted
on JewelryInTheNet.com by January 5th 2009. Winners must respond within 15 days
of notification to claim their awards. Anyone failing to respond within 15 days
of notification will forfeit their award and the award will be offered to the entry
with the next highest number of votes.
Auction Details
Participants that enter their design into the competition will also have the option to include the piece in an auction at the end of the competition,
if the entry is one of the top 10 finalists.
Any participant that selects this option can also set the minimum selling price for the entry.
After the competition ends, the all winning entries will be displayed in JewelryInTheNet Winners Circle. Any of the top 10 entries that selected the auction option, will display a label to indicate that the item is available through the auction. JewelryInTheNet will provide the auction tools for people to bid on the piece. The auction will run for 10 days and the piece will be sold to the highest bid over the minimum set selling price. The designer who submitted the entry will receive the entire amount that the piece sells for; there are no costs or fees associated with the auction.
Entering your item into the auction is strictly voluntary, and you are not obligated in any way to auction your design. Participating in the auction will not affect any awards that you may be entitled to.
Important Notice:
Neither JewelryInTheNet nor any of the sponsors can be held liable
for loss of data, improper digital display of picture/s or data. JewelryInTheNet
reserves the right to withdraw, cancel and/or re-schedule all or portions of the
competition in part or in its entirety for any or no reason. The Winners and award
beneficiaries are required to sign and return a publicity liability release. If
the release is not signed and returned within 30 days from the announcement of the
outcome of the competition, the winner will be automatically disqualified and the
prize will be awarded to the next runner up. Taxes and other expenses on the awards
are the exclusive responsibility of the winners. The prizes have no cash value and
can only be redeemed as follows: Your choice of an Advertising Campaign in JewelryInTheNet
or a Scholarship to attend American School of Jewelry. The Prize cannot be split.
All Scholarships are for American School of Jewelry and must be redeemed in any
Course or Program of your choice within 180 days after the winners of the competition
are posted on the JewelryInTheNet Jewelry Design Competition site.
